The most popular trekking area because of its easy access, good trails, interesting mixture of mid-hill Hindu and Buddhist cultures in the higher region. A scenic 5.30 hr drive or numerous daily flights connect the gateway town Pokhara with Kathmandu. The itineraries to this area have been updated to allow for side trips to less frequented areas of cultural and scenic significance. The routes are also linked with the option of air travel to the STOL airport at Jomsom.

Goes around the trans-Himalayan Manang valley, crossing the Thorong la pass at 5396m and reaches the Kali Gandaki river valley with excellent mountain views of Fish Tail Peak, Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri. A trek with great variation of culture and landscape starts with mid hill Bauhun and Chettri communities and at the top Manangey hill people steeped in Buddhist beliefs. Stupendous views of the Annapurna Himalayas as the trail winds towards and around it. Ends at the holy Muktinath shrine which holds eternal flame and is a revered place of worship for Hindus and Buddhists alike.
