21st Nov 2025A list of Who’s Who Visiting Nepal over a couple of months reads like a PR dream team – all of those who are on the top celebrities news have come on various missions lending credence to the fact that the country has moved on after the devastating earthquake of last year and is ready to host visitors.
Hollywood film stars Michelle Yeoh, Susan Sarandon, Jackie Chan came on well publicized trips to assist with rebuilding and rehabilitation works. Actor Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor were here to film scenes from the superhero movie Dr Strange. A bedraggled Cumberbatch and Ejiofor were seen walking the ancient locations at Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Ason market alley.
Footballer David Beckham wowed the public through his footwork in the medieval city of Bhaktapur. He was here on a Save the Children mission.
Prince Harry charmed all by his down to earth demeanour, quick wit and interaction with people of all ages. A mountain top night with a Gurkha family and extension of his visit to rebuild a school were the highlights of his visit. He has made a commitment to revisit the country to continue these works showing how Nepal can embed itself to be a favourite visitors repeat destination country. He also visited the Bardiya National Park in west Nepal and spent a night at a home stay.
Celebrity designer and Nepal’s own Prabal Gurung was spotted walking casually down Durbar Marg and enjoying his downtime. The ace designer keeps coming to Nepal for inspiration and his A-List of those who wear his line of work include Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, US first lady Michelle Obama, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried among others.
